Plant Rescue AI ("the app", "we") helps you identify, diagnose and rescue plants. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have. The short version: your data exists to care for your plants, we don't sell it, and you can export or delete everything from inside the app.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and sign-in identity (email/password, Apple, or Google), used solely to operate your account.
• Plant data you create: photos you scan or upload, plant/site/lawn/field records, care logs (watering, treatments, notes), diagnoses, recovery plans and their outcomes.
• Coarse location (optional): if you grant it, an approximate location used for local weather and your hardiness zone. We never collect precise background location.
• Purchase state: subscription entitlements via RevenueCat and the app stores. We never see or store your payment details.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and basic usage telemetry (via Sentry) to keep the app working.

How photos and AI work

When you scan a plant, your photo is sent to our identification providers (Kindwise/Plant.id) and to Anthropic's Claude models to produce the identification, diagnosis and care advice. These providers process the image to return a result; they are not permitted to use your photos to advertise to you. Photos you save are stored with your account so you can view your plant's history.

Improving the service with anonymized data

We may use anonymized, aggregated scan and outcome data — for example, "this treatment resolved this diagnosis in this climate zone" — to improve identification accuracy and care recommendations. Anonymized means stripped of your identity, your exact location, and anything that could reasonably identify you. Deleting your account removes your identifiable data; already-anonymized aggregates cannot be traced back to you.

What we never do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not show third-party advertising.
• We do not use your photos for marketing without your explicit permission.

Where your data lives

Data is stored with Supabase (database and photo storage) with row-level security so only your account can read your records. Subscriptions are managed by RevenueCat. Crash diagnostics go to Sentry.

Your controls

• Export: Profile → Privacy & data → Export gives you a complete copy of your records.
• Delete: Profile → Privacy & data → Delete account permanently removes your account, records and photos from our systems. This is immediate and irreversible.
• Location & notifications: both are optional and controlled in-app and in system settings.

Your privacy rights

United States (including California/CCPA): we do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can access (export) and delete your data directly in the app; nothing more is required, and we never discriminate for exercising your rights.

International users (GDPR and similar laws): we process your data to perform our contract with you (running the app), with your consent (location, notifications), and for legitimate interests (service improvement with anonymized data, fraud prevention, diagnostics). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Children

Plant Rescue AI is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
